DATA & Tools integration

A core aspect of NYCET’s work is to provide base-building and service-based organizations with access to data and tools that enable them to effectively reach and build relationships with communities of color, immigrants, LGBTQIA+ people, and poor and working people.

All NYCET partners have access to NGP VAN, Spoke, ThruTalk, data dashboards, custom maps, and program experimentation, as well as direct data and tools support from our staff.

WHAT WE OFFER:

  • Training on tools and technology

  • Measuring and increasing program impact

  • Planning, execution, and reporting

  • Democratizing data to make a difference

NGP VAN

Voter Activation Network is a database that includes voter registration information, commercial data, and USPS addresses. This information may be enhanced with modeled data and/or consumer information to help those accessing the contents make more informed decisions.

VAN also has mass engagement tools that facilitate phone banking (e.g., Virtual Phone Bank, Robocalls), door knocking (e.g., MiniVAN), mailers, and emails.

SPOKE

Spoke is a Peer-to-Peer Texting App that is open source, which enables NYCET to host and customize the tool for our partners. This is free for our partners to use for their outreach needs.

ThruTalk

ThruTalk is a power dialer that enables organizations to call cell phone numbers and landlines at a high speed while remaining compliant with robocalling regulations.

Maps

NYCET works with its partners to create custom maps that can highlight outreach data, membership location, demographic breakdowns, and more. These maps can then be shared or embedded across the network.

Dashboards

NYCET has created a number of data visualizations to demonstrate the work of our partners and other data available in VAN. These dashboards include data on contact history, program work, survey questions, activist codes, and profiles of various districts in New York State.
