Capacity building

LEADERSHIP PIPELINE PROGRAM

NYCET began its Leadership Pipeline in April 2017 to support and develop the future leaders of the progressive movement in New York state. The program creates an opportunity for people of color, women, and youth to discuss the challenges they encounter in movement building spaces and brainstorm ways to overcome them. It also creates a space for participants to learn new strategies, build relationships, and create a shared vision of the progressive movement in New York State.

Civic Engagement & Political Education

Our Civic Engagement and Political Education trainings are designed to provide partner organizations with support and best practices for their civic engagement programs. Through NYCET trainings, our partners learn how to conduct voter registration, implement voter education programs, and mobilize voters.
It is our goal to help partner organizations understand the correlation between data and in-the-field practices. As a result, the training department and data team work closely together to make sure all information provided to partners is accurate and up-to-date.

We also offer Organizational Trainings that are designed to assist organizations in assessing their current work through a series of strategic campaign exercises. These trainings are helpful for organizations that are working towards creating a common language and vision, especially if team members have varying levels of experience. The trainings can function as team building exercises and serve as opportunities for leadership development.

ORGANIZATIONAL TRAININGS

We have trained over 60 organizations across the state on Data & Technology, including how to use the voter activation network, run simple and advanced phone calling and door-knocking campaigns, text out to voters for issue-area advocacy, and build out, track, and mobilize their voterbase and membership for elections and advocacy.
